The “Empowering Youth through Transformative Entrepreneurship Support” program is implemented by UNDP Lebanon under UNDP Youth Empowerment, Engagement & Knowledge Project – SHABABEEK and funded by the Big Heart Foundation. The program aims to empower Lebanese youth-led Start-ups & MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) in the Creative Industries and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors with the needed tools to access regional and international markets through a combination of capacity building and a soft-landing program to support them to successfully navigate new international markets.

Program Details

The program will provide as a first step, training and capacity building to selected youth-led Start-ups & MSMEs by top-tier industry experts. The training will cover topics such as how to develop a market entry strategy and an export plan, as well as skills to develop a sales strategy. After the training, five MSMEs will be selected to participate in the soft-landing journey, which includes:

A series of export readiness and soft- landing workshops tailored to the needs of the selected Start-up & MSMEs in their target markets
Access to international mentor networks
Introduction to business generating partnerships (corporate partners and potential clients)
Cost of the trip to target market will be covered as part of the program.

To qualify for participation in the program, your start-up or MSME must meet the following criteria:

Be a registered micro, small, or medium-sized enterprise (MSME) led by youth
Demonstrate proven traction[1] in Lebanon, which includes having existing sales and generating revenues in the Lebanese market
Have readiness and capability[2] to export products or services to the European Union (EU) market
Operate in the fields of Information and Communication Technology – (ICT) & Business Services, or Creative Industries (design/ fashion/ handicrafts/ artisanal/ jewelry/ software & computer games)

The training is expected to start at the beginning of June and will be over a duration of one month. Training will take place through a hybrid modality with both synchronous and asynchronous form of learning
